Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) are membrane-bound nanoparticles essential for cell-to-cell communication.
In this Microscopy Masters webinar, Dr Allaura Cone from the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center delves into the intriguing findings unearthed by the Dittmer Lab. The Dittmer Lab has published multiple papers (McNamara et al, JEV, 2022, and Zhou et al, JEV, 2023) using ONI's Nanoimager to analyze the protein content in EVs. Interestingly, they discovered, using both Cryogenic Electron Microscopy (Cryo-EM) and dSTORM, that EVs seem to have both lipid-enriched and protein-enriched microdomains. They aim to explore this phenomenon further using 3D dSTORM.
